The creative collaboration between London’s iconic department store and Majeda’s unique blankets
The iconic department store, Fortnum and Mason approached me to design a blanket that was inspired by their heritage and the result was the Macaron design. These are the delicious pastel colours of the macaroons behind the glass counters as you enter the store, complemented by the signature aqua of the label. They wanted to capture the the shared values of quality and craftsmanship found in the UK woollen mills that are synonymous with their own brand.
This blanket plays with contrasting pastel hues. Squares of varying sizes interact with colour to create a double-sided design. The Macaron collection consists of three colourways: Sorbet, Denim and Sage. Available in blankets & cushions, all colours are available on Majeda Clarke’s website and in Fortnum and Mason. Woven in a traditional Welsh mill.
